Madison Air to Acquire ebm-papst for $5 Billion
Chicago-based Madison Air Solutions is set to acquire German airflow technology leader ebm-papst in a deal valued at $5 billion. The acquisition, expected to close by the end of 2026, aims to double Madison Air’s addressable market while integrating advanced fan and motor systems into its global portfolio.

Madison Air anticipates achieving annual run-rate synergies of $160 million by the third year post-closing. By utilizing its established operating model, the company plans to streamline procurement and operational efficiencies across its newly expanded global footprint. The acquisition adds over 1,200 patents to Madison’s existing air quality solutions, strengthening its position in mission-critical industrial and cooling applications.
