Skiptown Expands Colorado Footprint with Five-Unit Franchise Deal

A former Skiptown member turned entrepreneur is scaling the tech-enabled pet care brand across Colorado, signing a five-unit development agreement to bring the company’s signature dog daycare, boarding, and grooming services to new neighborhoods throughout the Denver metro area.

The expansion marks a significant push for the Charlotte-based company, which leverages a proprietary mobile app to manage everything from bookings to pet check-ins. The new partner, who brings extensive experience in sales and the pet industry, initially grew interested in the business after experiencing its operational model firsthand as a customer. According to CEO Mike Rotondo, the decision to deepen the brand's presence in Colorado stems from the state’s uniquely active, dog-centric lifestyle and a local market that consistently prioritizes high-quality pet services.

Skiptown’s strategy relies on integrating multiple care services under one roof to compete with traditional boarding facilities. By targeting regions with high pet ownership rates, the company aims to capitalize on the $158 billion pet care industry. Trevor Robinson, the brand’s head of franchise development, noted that the multi-unit commitment is designed to foster strong local roots while scaling services across the state. The move follows the company’s existing success in Charlotte, Atlanta, and its current operations in Denver.
