Starting today, customers can register for one of four Steam Machine configurations, ranging from the 512GB base model to the 2TB version, with optional Steam Controller bundles. Pricing for the 512GB unit begins at $1,049, while the top-tier 2TB model with a controller is priced at $1,428. These figures vary by market, with regional pricing established for Canada, the European Union, the United Kingdom, and Australia.
Valve Launches Randomized Reservation System for Steam Machine
To prevent bot exploitation and ensure equitable access, Valve has shifted away from the deposit-based Steam Deck model for its new hardware. Prospective buyers must now enter a randomized sign-up window, with the company prioritizing higher-end configurations for users who successfully secure multiple reservation spots.

Registration remains open until June 25th at 10AM PT. Once the window closes, Valve will conduct a one-time randomization process to establish the reservation queue. While users are permitted to join multiple waitlists, the system is designed to consolidate these entries; should a user win multiple spots, the company will automatically assign the highest-spec model and purge the remaining entries to streamline the fulfillment process.
