TrendAI Joins OpenAI Daybreak to Automate Cyber Defense

Dallas-based TrendAI has secured a position as one of the inaugural members of the OpenAI Daybreak Cyber Partner Program. By integrating frontier AI models directly into its Vision One platform, the firm aims to shift security operations from reactive alert management toward autonomous, machine-speed threat triage and vulnerability discovery.

Security teams are now deploying agentic triage capabilities that surface AI-assisted insights within existing SIEM and XDR workflows. This integration allows analysts to bypass manual alert handling, focusing instead on high-level validation and escalation decisions. According to the company, the primary goal is to reduce mean time to triage by embedding these models into the existing infrastructure rather than requiring separate interfaces.

Beyond triage, the partnership bolsters TrendAI’s Zero Day Initiative. By utilizing frontier cyber capabilities within its managed service workflows, researchers can identify and prioritize vulnerabilities before official CVEs are published. This accelerates the deployment of virtual patching, providing protection at the point of discovery. Rachel Jin, Chief Platform and Business Officer at TrendAI, emphasized that this approach treats AI as fundamental infrastructure, enabling precise threat analysis without forcing security teams to interact with the models directly.
