Roborock Enters US Lawn Care Market with RockMow X1

Roborock is bringing its automated lawn care technology to American yards, unveiling the RockMow X1 LiDAR at CES today. The move marks a significant expansion for the company, which spent the last year refining its autonomous navigation systems to tackle the specific challenges of residential landscape maintenance.

The new model utilizes a sophisticated combination of LiDAR and Visual Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (VSLAM) to achieve 360-degree 3D scanning. This sensor array allows the unit to navigate complex environments with precision, supported by an all-wheel drive system designed for difficult terrain. The machine handles slopes of up to 80 percent and clears obstacles as high as 3.1 inches.

While the X1 shares core technical DNA with the existing RockMow Z1, it targets a different capacity tier. The device is rated to maintain up to half an acre—roughly 2,000 square meters—per day. This throughput is lower than the 5,000 square meters managed by the Z1 model, positioning the X1 as a more compact alternative for standard residential properties. Roborock plans to launch the device later this year, entering a crowded US market where it will compete against established brands already leveraging LiDAR-based navigation for outdoor chores.
