The initiative coincides with #StopSUDEP Week, held October 19-23, and aims to drive clinical conversations that often fail to happen. While 88% of physicians report discussing SUDEP with their patients, only 63% of patients recall these interactions. To bridge this divide, SK Life Science is matching donations to CURE Epilepsy dollar for dollar up to $10,000, providing resources for families to better navigate seizure management with their healthcare providers.
SK Life Science Partners to Tackle SUDEP Awareness Gap
Nearly one in five people experiencing daily seizures have never heard of Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy, a critical knowledge gap that SK Life Science is now working to close. The company has launched a matching gift campaign to fund research and education alongside CURE Epilepsy and The Cameron Boyce Foundation.

Sunita Misra, Chief Medical Officer of SK Life Science, noted that research shows vital information about epilepsy-related risks is not reaching the families who need it most. By supporting advocacy efforts, the company hopes to move beyond drug development and foster an environment where patients feel empowered to discuss triggers, sleep hygiene, and monitoring options. Beth Lewin Dean, CEO of CURE Epilepsy, emphasized that this collaboration serves to both accelerate life-saving research and ensure that the community has the tools to address these risks head-on.
