The campaign provides access to a specialized resource hub featuring expert-approved educational materials, social media graphics, and fact sheets available in both English and Spanish. Central to this year’s initiative is the debut of a new video titled Uveitis: A Closer Look, which breaks down the causes, symptoms, and treatment options for the condition. Other resources include personal testimonials from the ASPECT patient engagement program and professional deep dives into thyroid eye disease and mental wellness.
Prevent Blindness Launches Sixth Annual Inflammatory Eye Disease Week
Inflammatory eye diseases account for 10 to 15 percent of legal blindness in the United States, disproportionately impacting the working-age population. To combat this trend, the advocacy organization Prevent Blindness has declared October 19–25, 2026, as the sixth annual Inflammatory Eye Disease Week, aiming to improve early detection and patient education.

Jeff Todd, president and CEO of Prevent Blindness, emphasized that these conditions can cause irreversible vision loss if left untreated. According to the American Academy of Ophthalmology, while acute inflammation is a standard immune response, chronic cases require clinical intervention to prevent permanent damage. The program, supported by Gold sponsor Keenova Therapeutics, encourages patients and care partners to utilize these materials to navigate complex diagnoses such as keratitis, conjunctivitis, and uveitis. Detailed information and financial assistance program listings are available on the organization's official website.
