The Danish firm, acting through its Copenhagen Infrastructure V flagship fund, joins a consortium that includes EDF power solutions with 33.33%, as well as ESB and Sumitomo Corporation, each holding 20.83%. The project, situated approximately 40km offshore, received formal development consent in December 2025 following a four-year planning phase. Once operational, the wind farm is projected to produce enough electricity to power roughly one million UK homes annually.
Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners Takes 25% Stake in Five Estuaries
Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners has secured a 25% interest in the Five Estuaries Offshore Wind Farm, acquiring the stake previously held by a Macquarie-led consortium. This move integrates the Danish fund manager into a development partnership aimed at delivering a 1,080MW energy project off the coast of Essex and Suffolk.

Kunal Patel, a partner at CIP, noted the investment aligns with the firm’s strategy to bolster UK energy security and stabilize electricity costs. Project partners are currently advancing site design and procurement activities. With development consent secured, the consortium is focusing on ongoing engagement with local stakeholders and landowners to transition the site toward the construction phase.
