George Richardson Offers Children a Blueprint for Self-Belief

Every child is born with a three-pound brain capable of changing the course of their life, according to author George Richardson. In his new book, Your Wonderful Mind, the retired U.S. Army veteran translates decades of professional resilience into a guide for children ages 8 to 12.

George Richardson Offers Children a Blueprint for Self-Belief

Richardson, who rose from a modest upbringing to a high-level career in the global packaging machinery industry, wrote the book to address a lack of motivational literature for younger audiences. While adult self-improvement books are abundant, he observed that children—particularly those from marginalized or non-traditional backgrounds—rarely receive the message that their circumstances do not dictate their potential. His work aims to fill this void by framing positive thinking not as an abstract concept, but as a practical tool for goal-setting and confidence building.

Writing with the perspective of a grandfather of ten, Richardson avoids academic jargon in favor of an accessible, mentorship-style tone. The book provides step-by-step guidance on how the subconscious mind functions and how children can actively direct their own futures. Now available through Palmetto Publishing, the title is intended for both independent reading and collaborative study between children and caregivers. Richardson’s own trajectory, which began in Memphis in 1952 and spanned a 21-year military career, serves as the foundation for the lessons he now shares with the next generation.
