In the space-based category, the SIRIUS Wildfire Alliance secured the top prize of $500,000 for its methodology in integrating satellite data to model fire spread. Other recognized teams included Team Snuffed, MyRadar, DeepFire, and Mayday.AI, which utilized specialized algorithms to identify smoke plumes through dense cloud cover.

For autonomous response, teams were tasked with detecting and extinguishing fires within 10 minutes of ignition across challenging terrain. Anduril Industries claimed the lead position, earning $1.2 million for its Lattice software platform, alongside an additional $1 million Lockheed Martin bonus for sensor precision. Dryad Networks and AURA Foresight also received recognition for their end-to-end autonomous systems tested in the Alaskan wilderness.

Moving forward, the initiative will transition into a 12- to 15-month Impact Phase. This period aims to bridge the gap between experimental technology and field-ready deployment, ensuring these tools reach the communities and agencies currently facing the rising threat of extreme wildfire seasons.
