While QuEra has long automated basic recovery, more severe laser failures previously required human intuition and hours of manual labor.
By utilizing Anthropic’s Claude within the Model Hardware Standard (MHS) framework, QuEra engineers offloaded this recovery process to an AI agent. The agent ran continuous experiments on a testbed, iterating through hundreds of failure scenarios that would have taken a human team weeks to troubleshoot. The resulting software is a conventional, inspectable program that operates within strict hardware safety interlocks.
