Monterey Peninsula College Secures Grant for Workforce Training

The funding, awarded to the Monterey Peninsula College (MPC) Foundation, is designated for the institution’s Honor Grant program. Josh Stratton of California American Water emphasized that the partnership focuses on bridging the gap between classroom education and professional practice. By facilitating hands-on projects and mentorship, the initiative aims to provide students with the technical proficiency required to enter high-demand fields. The grant operates under the foundation’s Keep Communities Flowing program, which prioritizes career development and life skills training to ensure students can overcome traditional barriers to employment.
