MBC Group Debuts Gaming Arm at Gamescom with 1001 Threads of Mizan
At the Gamescom stage in Cologne, the Middle East’s media giant MBC Group pulled back the curtain on its new gaming division, MBC Game Studio. The studio’s inaugural project, 1001 Threads of Mizan, marks the conglomerate's aggressive pivot into the global interactive entertainment market through high-budget, folklore-inspired action-adventure titles.

MBC Group Chairman Waleed Al-Ibrahim described the launch as a strategic evolution intended to diversify the company’s business model and tap into international markets. By assembling an international team with experience at established global studios, the company aims to merge regional cultural narratives with high-production-value gameplay. Mike Sneesby, CEO of MBC Group, noted that the initiative serves the group's broader ambition to transform from a regional broadcast leader into a global entertainment entity. Gamescom attendees are currently testing the title, which features drop-in, drop-out mechanics and combat sequences against colossal jinn entities.
