The ES Max represents a significant evolution of the technology found in last year’s entry-level ES Pro. While the previous iteration relied on sensors to detect the distance of a moving magnet, the updated hardware measures the magnet's rotation as the thumbstick moves. This change ensures that magnetic field strength remains constant, resulting in more responsive input tracking across all compatible platforms, including the Nintendo Switch, Windows, macOS, and mobile devices.

Beyond the sensor overhaul, GuliKit has expanded the controller's utility with a dedicated customization app. Hardware improvements include two remappable rear buttons, swappable thumbstick caps, and versatile Hall-effect linear triggers. These triggers offer a hardware toggle that allows users to switch to micro-switches, effectively shortening travel distance for faster, more tactile responses during gameplay.
