His appointment follows a leadership search intended to capitalize on the company's recent growth, which saw its national service footprint more than double under Zacur.
Avantik Taps Healthcare Veteran Jeffrey Waldman as New CEO
Jeffrey Waldman has been named chief executive officer of Avantik, a diagnostic laboratory solutions provider based in Pine Brook, New Jersey. He succeeds Mark Zacur, who is retiring after a tenure marked by significant national expansion and the integration of several strategic acquisitions into the company's service portfolio.
Scott Garrett, chairman of Avantik, noted that Waldman’s background in commercial strategy and his focus on customer-centric models align with the firm's long-term objectives. Zacur will remain with the organization as an advisor through the end of the year to facilitate a transition. Since partnering with Water Street Healthcare Partners in 2023, Avantik has sought to solidify its role as a primary supplier for anatomic pathology, histology, and dermatology laboratories.
