The partnership formalizes a long-standing relationship between Ryan Beedie, president of the real estate giant Beedie, and Vistara founder Randy Garg. Since Garg spun Vistara out of Beedie Capital in 2015, the firm has raised over US$700 million, consistently ranking among the top 10 global private credit funds under US$500 million. By securing a commitment of up to US$125 million from Beedie Capital, Vistara aims to bridge the financing gap for mid-to-later stage technology companies facing market volatility.
Beedie Capital Acquires 50% Stake in Vistara Growth
A 35-year friendship between MBA classmates has evolved into a major corporate consolidation, as Beedie Capital acquires a 50% ownership interest in Vistara Growth. The deal positions Beedie as the anchor investor for Vistara’s upcoming US$500 million structured opportunities fund, set to launch this fall.

Despite the acquisition of half the firm, both entities will maintain independent operations. For Beedie Capital, the move expands its multi-strategy platform, which already encompasses significant holdings in mining and technology. Garg views the capital injection as a strategic stabilizer, allowing Vistara to deploy its new evergreen fund with the backing of Beedie’s permanent capital base, even as the broader tech sector navigates uncertainty surrounding AI and shifting investment landscapes.
