V2X Secures $87 Million Navy Contract for F/A-18 Pylon Sustainment
The U.S. Navy has tapped V2X, Inc. for an $87 million contract to overhaul SUU-79 pylons, the vital hardware responsible for carrying weaponry on F/A-18 Super Hornet and EA-18G Growler aircraft. The project aims to extend the service life of these sub-systems, ensuring continued combat readiness through early 2030.
Jeremy C. Wensginer, President and CEO of V2X, noted that the award reinforces the firm’s long-standing role in maintaining the operational lifespan of the Navy’s tactical aircraft. The indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity agreement ensures that these frontline assets remain capable of full-spectrum combat operations as mission requirements evolve over the next several years.
